I am interested in having a LO-Jack anti theft devise installed in my 2006 Ford GT. Has any of the members had this devise installed? Where do they install them and is it a good idea? Please advise
Good question - apparently my "new" (used) car has the Lo-Jack system installed, but my region does not receive/transmit Lo-Jack so it is not being used. I would like to know where on the car it is installed and what it looks like....
I have the Lo-Jack system installed but I don't know where. I don't really want to know actually...in this instance, what I don't know can't hurt me.
It DOES work though. I have left home without the tracking key fob and the system immediately alerted me that my car may have been moved/stolen without my knowledge.
Another use for it is as a tattle-tale device if you leave your car at the dealer for repair and keep the fob with you: It will alert you immdeiately if they take it for a joy ride.
Thanks for the feed back. Lo-Jack installer is here to install now. I was concerned that they would want to take out and install behind the dash and I didn't want dash removed AT ALL. I was told that the dash would not be removed for instillation! There are mant hiding places within the GT. Tracking devise is a must with the key fob. Thanks again. I DON'T THINK YOU CAN HAVE TOO MUCH SAFETY SYSTEMS FOR OUR GT'S. Tomy Hamon :thumbsup
I know myself and I'm sure others would be interested in knowing how much for the install and equipment and how much for the monthly monitoring? Thank you.
As a Ford Dealer we do a lot of business with Lo Jack as it is an excellent product. ( I don't own stock or have any interest in this product except that I feel that an automobile investment needs to be protected!) Lo Jack recovery system with early warning key fab installed is $895.00 Retail with $5,000 Guarantee fee paid if not recovered within 30 days. NO MONTHLY FEES! Lo Jack 1-800-456-5225 and they will direct you to a dealer for instillation. Tomy Hamon--86 AC Mark IV Cobra-2006 Ford GT
I called them and it's only available in 26 states and only then in limited metropolitan areas. It's radio based like a cel phone (not GPS) so they can't help me out here in the boondocks. I suspect a lot of others will be in the same boat. :thumbsdow
