Several years back I was treated to a ride in a 917 at Summit Point by Brian Redman. It was at one of the historic events. The sounds and the speed were just incredible....let alone having a cool chauffer. :wink

I was also lucky enough to have brought my video camera to memorialize the ride.

They have been all in Daytona ! Saw Derek Bell, Brian Redman and David Piper who drove the 917. 600HP, 240mph and no airbag :wink

Of the 25 built I believe 16 of them were at Daytona for RennFest in November. Including Jerry Seinfeld's Le Man's winning # 23. An incredible event. Also present was the 16 cylinder car - which unfortunately they did not start.

I have always wanted a 917. I had the chance to buy a Kraftwerk replica that was the twin to that car (with the exception of the motor) for a song and a dance but got the GT instead.
