On Saturday May the 13th the Texas Motor Speedway is hosting a Speedway Children’s Charities event “Laps for Charity”. This benefits Green Oaks School among other local children’s charities. http://www.speedwaycharities.org/schedule/texas_motor_speedway/504075.html
Green Oak School

As a GT owner I thought it would be a great opportunity to get together with other local GT owners and “show-off “ for the kids, as well as take pictures of the cars together. We would like to see how many GT’s we can get together in the same place. Maybe we could get together 4:00pm & 5:00 pm Saturday.

The Laps for Charity is an opportunity for the public to come out to the speedway and take their car on the track for only $25. Each set for $25 will be 3 laps and a picture in the Victory Circle with their car is $10. There will be cars on the track from 5pm-10pm, and there will be about 10-14 cars on the track at a time. The pace cars regulate the speed and make sure everyone obeys the rules. On the infield there will be cones set up in rows (A-Z) and a volunteer directing the cars and counting so that each row has a set number of cars in it. Cashiers will be walking up and down each row and collecting payment for the set amount each driver purchases.

I hope you will join Speedway Children’s Charities on May 13th and raise more money for the children of North Texas at this fun event! I look forward to hearing from you and please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much!

Doc,

Depending on the weather, I'm going to the AER car show in Carrollton on Saturday morning, then I may head out to TMS on Saturday afternoon if we get finished early enough.

4-5pm is very possible.

AER was rain delayed..registration is from 8-11 and show is from 12-3...we always have the cobra meeting there so thats where I will be..glad I will have company from East Texas. Mardyn we get there around 8am and walk to breakfast so feel free to join us. I will have the gulf baseball cap on.

We could cruise out there together if you want...the laps are fun but they do control the speed you are allowed to run at so you don't get to go balls to the wall.

Lets get everyone to AER...I will put out the call to the people who's numbers I have handy..the only problem will be mothers day weekend so some may be out of town.

Matt, I'm in on the AER deal for sure... if the weather is crummy, I'll probably drive my Mustang though. (I can't stand the thought of driving my 40 mile old (new) GT in the rain right now. I'd never get it clean again.

Let's touch base later as the show gets closer.
