Well ask THIS guy...

Did you spot the staged parts of that video?

Obviously, the Viper going over the edge was real enough, but there are many other anomalies, that give it away as staged, highly edited, and pieced together video for entertainment or advertisement. In any case, that was purely driver error, and not the car. If you are interested, I can supply a link that discusses this in some depth.

It might have been made by a start-up production company trying to mimic Top Gear's success.

Most people who say the Viper doesn't handle well have never learned to get the most out of it on the track, they just repeat something somebody else thinks who also has never learned to drive one at its limits.

I've tracked my Gen2 Viper, as many others here have, and can tell you that it sticks very well at high speeds and high Gs. Where it will bite you is if you use the throttle as a light switch, (on or off), instead of a rheostat. You need to gradually feed the power on at apex, then full power drift out to the edge of the track on corner exit.

There aren't many cars that make 70% of their full torque potential just above idle, and this catches many street-drivers by surprise, because they are not expecting to be able to break the masssive 335 rears loose with just a stab of the throttle. It takes some getting used to.
