How does the GT ride?

I am posting this for a friend that is considering buying a Tungsten GT.

How do these cars ride? How do they compare say to a Viper or new Z06 as far as the ride? Is it more race car like or livable?

Are they comfortable? Would it make a descent DD or is this something that you would only want to drive occasionally, I am talking comfort wise not investment wise here.

What have the values been doing? Are they still going for over MSRP? I have been looking at the web site about GT prices, it seems to be pretty informative.

Anything he should look for? He is buying new but figured I would ask anyway.

Before you all point me to the search feature I do know it is there and will use it when I have some more time but was hoping to get a few quick answers on some of my questions. Thanks is advance. :thumbsup

The car does not ride rough, and is quiet. The biggest factors that make everyday driving difficult are the doors (which make it very difficult to enter or exit the car unless you have four feet of clearance) and the poor mirrors and rear visibility.
Thanks, keep the comments coming. :thumbsup

It rides firmly. Over expansion joints it is harsher than a Z06. Not objectionable.

Can they be had for MSRP now? The one car he is looking at the dealer is asking 9 over. I thought the proces have calmed down a little bit.

Thanks, I will pass this info along. The one he is looking at is local but as I told him, 9000 bucks buys a lot of shipping. Atlanta is actually close enough he could drive it up if he wanted to. :thumbsup

You can get any color at sticker now with a little looking.

The car drives amazingly well, more like a cruiser than a racer. I feel it is much friendlier to drive than the Vipers or Z06's. Aside from getting in and out and the visibility (neither are terrible mind you), it is a great driving car. Much better than I was expecting for such a performer.

Good luck.

GT Drive

Check out this website
www.wcdriving.com

For $800 you can drive 6 cars for 30 miles each. Ford GT, Ferrari 430,
Lambo Gallardo, Bently GT, Aston Martin DB9 Volante, Corvette Z06.

Controlled public roads, not a speed test but a nice ride.

I don't know anything about them, never talked with anyone who has but it seems like a neat way to get a test drive and compare.

They move them around the country on a tour type basis.

If anyone knows anything about this, PM me. I am going to sign up.

The GT is incredibly smooth, EVO magazine (Kinda of like Road &Track, but better) in Europe voted it "Car Of The Year." It is smooth like you find in European machines, yet it is all Americana. My Viper stock felt faster, as it makes great low end grunt, but The GT is faster you just don't notice it until you start crossing 150 mph. Too quiet, but a great sound when your on it. Spend the money for the Mcintosh sound system, best stock sound I have ever heard. Rear visibilty is tough, but I had a camera with a rearview mirror monitor added, helps a lot especially when backing up. GO FOR IT.
