Hot tip - Florida EPASS users rejoice!

Finally got around to mounting my EPASS (Florida toll device) in my GT.

I HATE having it in the window, and a friend of mine was going to help me line it up. He put his hand on the hood, and said "ya know, I don't think that will block the RF."

We opened the hood, found a great spot right by the windshield and mounted it with painters tape for a temporary test run. It worked great! Actually seemed to be more sensitive there than on the windshield. Hood closes without an issue.

As an additional tip - Any Florida EPASS service store will give you extra strips of the Velcro mounting tape. I like their tape because it really comes off residue free if you need to move it.

No guarantees, your millage may very, non-EPASS devices who knows!

That said, I am a very happy GT owner today!

Do you have a picture of your mounting location under the hood?

I am not sure I understand exactly where you have it located.

Thanks!

I'll take a picture tonight, but to try and describe it better....

On the drivers side, open the hood/boot/trunk and look right up by the windshield. You will see a "stopper' that the hood rests on when the hood is closed.

The flat area there had more than enough space for a Florida EPass, and since it was flatter than the stopper I had no worries about the hood smashing it.

Took the car into work today - Multiple toll booths of different configurations - It did not miss on one.

Another great idea courtesy of Erick! I moved my NYS EZ-Pass from the windshield and mounted it under the front bonnet. Worked like a charm and I went through 4 toll stations this weekend without a problem. I'll post some pictures in the next couple of days. Whoopee! :thumbsup

Same for those that used E-Z Pass in the Northeast. By mounting on the underside of the hood it is totally away from any rain or other elements.

I have posted 2 pictures to the photo gallery showing where it was placed.
