Hissing sound

Well, got my GT today, and of course went for a drive. Only put on about 20 miles though.
When I returned home, and the car was idleing (and also when turned off) I heard a loud "hissing" sound from the front, sounded like someone letting air out of tire.
Is this normal? It did stop after about 5 mins.

It's your battery venting hydrogen sulfide gases. Probably sat in a showroom and then got boosted with a quick charge which fried a cell. These batteries are Optimas and are meant to be trickle charged. You need to take out the luggage liner and look at the battery, as it probably has bubbled over. You will need to get the battery holder and the underpans cleaned up, plus a new battery. All covered by warranty. Search the post "A Comedy of Errors" for my experience with this problem. Good luck, AC

ByeEnzo, where ya been? Long time no see.

Right on the Money

Well, you were (unfortunately) correct in your diagnosis. I love this forum. Went to the dealer this AM, they're ordering me a new Battery and tray. Now I just have to wait. Killing me: 19 miles on the car, and sitting in my garage (but it does look nice.)

Rsilverman,

You may want to get DBK (the Admin) to change your Sig to "GT Owner". Welcome aboard!
