THE GOOD NEWS:
Got up and got the car washed and polished, put the new mats in, got the motor all Bling-Blinged out and thought it would be a good day to go looking for a fight.

The Bad News

I picked the wrong person to fight! :biggrin Notice the bubble in the first pic. Some have asked if it's functional, it is.

Great pics, GURNEY FOR PRESIDENT! Did you invite him to the GT Rally, perhaps he would like to join some of us and fill up a car transporter for the trip back to Detroit are? :banana

I updated the images.
Bony, I asked Mr Gurney if he was going to "The Last GT" event and he said he was unaware of it. GTjoey said AAA racers was sent an invite. After talking to them (he and his assistant Cathy) I suspect something like this, Ford would have to be the ones to request he come. Cathy said that they get more requests than he can possibly fill.
They both are two of the nicest people you will meet. Dan still enjoys talking about the good O'le days and the stories are a hoot. It is very hard for me not to come off like a star struck groupie when I see them. I grew with a real love for sixties road racing and IMHO he was one of the very very best. :usa

You lucky SOB!! I had hoped he would be at the B-J so I took my owners manual and the hardback portfolio book with me. I never saw him but I got Carroll Shelbys autograph on both. I also met the Ford GT Project Manager there and had him sign my owners manual. I hope you weren"t too star struck to remember to get his autograph on yours.

He signed about a dozen things for me, die cast car, three books, my car, a few posters and I am having to of those pics put on canvas 24x36 the he will sign. Like I've already posted, he is truly a "real" person and a nice man. (I 'm a 48 year old groupie, the wife is horrified)

Neilda, 3 of the 4 fluid res. are alum. as are also the 4 upper support braces in the engine compartment. I have had those as well as the stainless Borla and the blower polished. When the hood is closed the blower and braces look stunning through the glass. Got the idea from a 360 a few years back at car show. A local shop did it all, R & R and polish pluss remove and cap the bumper for about $1700 US.

I met Dan at a Ford press event last year for the Mustang convertible introduction. They took us to Leno's garage in Burbank and Dan was there (along with Coletti and some other big names on the GT program). I was very nervous but at one point I approached Dan and told him how much I enjoyed seeing him in person. I also had to thank him because he had sent me an autographed poster after I did some commentary for the Ford GT40 "Behind the Headlights" show on Speed. I felt like such a dork gushing in front of him and his wife, but he was extremely polite and humble and said "thanks" to me for helping out with the show. Later I saw Matt Stone from Motor Trend and he was like, "Dude, you were all lit up like a lightbulb while talking to him."

Truly a great guy. Having your two GTs together is basically a dream come true for most of us. Congrats Steve!! And thanks for the pictures!
