Engine check light, difficult fueling, etc.. Hoping against hope it was not the infamous fuel filler flapper valve! Looked below the 'shutter closure' with flashlight.......flapper valve completely broken & detached. Unable to extract (don't guess it's going anywhere anyway!).

So what kind of time and $ estimate am I looking at from my friendly neighborhood ford dealer?

Out of 3/36 warranty. Any case for emissions warranty.

Thanks for any advice and help,

Chris

The error code is an EVAP control point part of the emission system which has as with any other US based car a 7/70k warranty...

follow this thread - post #33 forward talking about the "warranty rights"

let us know what the dealer and FOMOCO says

If you can't get it done under warranty, or even if you can, but they haven't done it before, you might want to see if Shadowman or the GT Guys or Kendall can do it. I personally wouldn't want someone who hasn't done one before to learn on my car.

I watched the GT guys do it on my car - they did a beautiful job. It required the fender to come off amongst some other intricate looking maneuvers. It took them several hours and they've done lots of them.

The part cost $500 normally, I'm told. If you can't get it covered by Ford, I'd try Torrie.
