Details are forthcoming, but I wanted to spread the word about this year's Romeo Peach Festival Charity Car Show and Cruise. The event is run by the Romeo Lions Club and is hosted by the Ford Romeo Engine Plant. All proceeds go to charity.

The show is the Sunday of Labor Day weekend (August 31st). I'll post details on entry fees and times will be posted, but spread the word! We've had a few forum members bring their GT's to the event in years past, and I hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did!

Long Awaited Details...

I apologize for the delay but here are the details:

Time: 7:30am – 5pm (must register by 11:00am to be considered for awards)
Entry Fee: $20 (or $15 if registered by 8/30/08) --- ALL PROCEEDS GO TO CHARITY
Enter in the WEST entrance of the Romeo Engine Plant for registration

There will not be a cruise to Stony Creek this year; instead there will be a BBQ after the show in the Kmart parking lot on Van Dyke south of 31 Mile Road.

I've attached the flyers and registration form below.

Hope to see a lot of forum members and your GT's there! The more that are there, the more fun it will be!

REMEMBER, IT'S ALL FOR CHARITY!

V8Power Great to hear from you. We are big fans of the Romeo Engines in the GT's. Isn't the Romeo Peach Festival a huge event with parades and concerts also? Hope we can see some examples of your hand built Niche line engines at the show. :thumbsup

Display Engines

Yes, we will have our Ford GT and our Shelby GT500 engines on display. (I think we might even have our 2 Niche Line coordinators spending the day at the show too!)

The Romeo Peach Festival does have activities throughout the weekend. From sports tournaments to airplane rides at the airport to carnival rides to a Harley Night to...

Of course, I'm biased to the Car Show, but the rest of the Festival is wonderful too! All of the local companies and the Romeo Lions Club put on a spectacular weekend.

For full details on the Festival, take a look at this link. It's the Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce page, and click on the link at the bottom of the page (just above the Peach Fest logo). Activities begin on Thursday and continue through Monday.

Parade of Cars

I just spoke with the Lions Club, and just to clarify --

The parade of cars will still happen this year, it just will not begin at Stony Creek. The parade will start at 7pm from the Kmart parking lot. So, if you want to be in the parade, but don't necessarily want to cookout after the car show at the Romeo Engine Plant, be at the Kmart parking lot at 7pm.

Michigan GT guys we need at least 2 GT's to show up.

Romeo Engine Needs you.:thumbsup

Sorry I cannot make it. Will be attending the NMRA Drag Races in Columbus Ohio.

Depending on traffic about 45 minutes north.

This might be doable.:thumbsup

Both Sarnia and Windsor are about 65 miles from the plant. From the borders, Sarnia is probably the quicker of the two routes.

And since I'm now realizing I didn't give an address for the plant for those using GPS/ mapquest...

Romeo Engine Plant
701 East 32 Mile Road
Romeo, MI 48065

We're located on the NE corner of 32 Mile Road and the M53 freeway.

I sent PM and left message on the # that is on the form.

Will bring the GT to the plant Sunday Morning.:thumbsup

Pre-registration continues through tomorrow. The Lions will give all the details by calling the number on the form, and I'm sure they will return any call promptly. They are a great group running the show, so I can guarantee that any GT that comes Sunday will be welcomed!

Hope to see you, tpraceman, 06fordgt, nthfinity, and any others!

Got to report in.

The weather was absolutly perfect.
The DJ was spinning all the crowd favorits and the setting with the ars on the grassy hills and parking lots was very nice.

The Ford Romeo Engine plant manager came out for most of the day and she (yes she) was great and really knows her stuff. I was very impressed.

They had a MK-S new lincoln at the show:thumbsup along with the new FLex in all black I dont like boxy but this thing was the really cool even had 110 plugs in the console like a camper would have. 4 sky lights and one moon roof with a back seat anyone over 7' could sit in nicely......

Anyhow Christine and Engine guru John from the plant treated us like royalty.
They pulled out of the plant a fully dressed on a engine stand GT motor and placed it in the lot next to my GT

The day started out at 7:30 am with a shuttle ride down the street for a huge free breakfest at the Romeo (corn field) air port which they had WW1 & WW2planes, and helicopters to those light weights all flying and having fun.

At the end of the show durring the award the Romeo Engine plant & Romeo Lions club gave picked my GT as the winning car and instead of a trophy they presented me with this really nice embroidered jacket!

So I wanted to say thank you so much but they kept thanking me........what a great car and group of special people we are connected through our motors with:thumbsup

Thanks Tom, any pictures? Is Christine the plant mgr?
