I have decided to sell my CSX 8000. A long time friend of mine has decided to part with his 68 KR that he bought when we were both just right out of high school in 1979. I wiill need to sell the Cobra to help make the deal. 8014 was built by Bill Andrews at HRE. It is titled as a 1965 and currently has Pa.antique plates on it. It currently has just over 14,000 miles and runs perfectly. I have been looking to see what these 8000 series cars are currently selling for used and I could not find one out there.....anywhere. So I took to the Shelby website to see what it would cost to duplicate 8014 and here is what I found, the cost of a painted fiberglass roller is currently listed as $85,995. Added to that are the following options on 8014, tonneau cover, top with sliding side curtians, leather seats, custom interior color (dk.blue) orig style mirrors, and full exhaust. These all add up to over just over $12,000. That still does not include the price of the engine, transmission, or there installation. The current wait to get a car from Shelby is currently sitting at aprox 10 to 12 month, and I've heard quite a few people have been waiting for longer than that. I do not know how long it normally takes for the dealers to do the installation and setting up of the drivetrain. So I think with all that in mind, $85,000 is a very fair price. Just buy it, get in it and enjoy it like I have. The car has been completly 100% reliable during my ownership and starts right up every time with no overheating, no leaking, no stalling, absolutly no mechanical issues of any kind. I was told by Bill @ HRE this aluminum head small block makes between 345-355 HP. It also has a Tremmec 5 spd complete with a stock looking shift lever & knob. I can be reached at 484 357 6853 Thanks, Tom
