Convince me that a 5000 mile 550 hp 2005 FGTwith no warranty is better than a 2500 mile 600 hp 2008 Viper coupe with full factory waranty.

Have you driven both?.....if not, do so.....

If you have to ask the question, you should definitely buy the Viper.

RDFGT - what was the answer to the same question on the Viper forum?

Both are great cars. The real choice is how many camera-phone photo's you want to endure. Once or twice a block, or once every 6 months or so.

Pick your color and write the check.

Vipers are OK if you enjoy breadtruck exhaust sounds, wide door lips, clunky non-crisp handling at low to normal speed, styling very similar to Dodge Stratus (03 up) etc. May not be, but feels big & heavy.

Ford GT...Only made for 2 yrs. Nothing else looks like it (one of the best styles ever...timeless imo) No big ass heavy V-10, just a really fast, awsum sounding V-8 as American muscle should be. Much easier to work on. Handles incredibly, very nimble Will draw ten times the attention (if you are into that type of thing).

I have owned both and never had anyone hang out a window to take a picture of my Viper......I think that says something.

My money on value in 20years is going Ford GT all the way. And that my not be a factor to you either.

Like a wife of gf ...you have to look at it often. Ford GT is gorgeous, sexy, easy on the eye....a work of art. Viper.....uh, not so much.

Possibly it's just the way you present yourself....but don't you think your post is a little to arrogant for any of us to take more than a second to respond?:slap

Extremely well stated!:thumbsup.......Sorry for my previous rambling!

ar·ro·gant (r-gnt)

1. Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.
2. Marked by or arising from a feeling or assumption of one's superiority toward others:lol How you got arrogant from my statement is beyond me. :cheers

My Viper is my daily beater. Someone hit it on the nose when they said it sounded like a UPS truck. So I put a B&B exhaust on it and now it sounds like a really loud UPS truck. Build quality is caca. It is really very bad. That's why rain, wind, or snow it's on the road. It's hard to get in and out of, it follows every crack in the road, it rattles like a cheap garbage can, and the convertible top squeaks. Hmm, I probably could come up with more, but I think you get the jest.
Don't get me wrong it can be fun to drive, but it really isn't a comparison at all. They really shouldn't be compared.:frown

The answer is simple. Buy one of each!

Just make sure the Viper is a convertible:thumbsup

Very well said Nardo, that would convince me for sure...

Thank you for the follow up.

A Used Car lot in the inner-city will be better suited for your inquiry.

Bye bye

Moderators Note

Gentlemen,

This thread got off to a bad start and degenerated from there. It's history.

RDFGT, #1 in your dictionary definition appears to be close to the mark. This is an owners Forum and if you join our ranks I think you'll enjoy it here. This Forum operates quite differently from others you may be involved with. Trying to score a point by quoting from your Webster's on your 3rd post and asking for information with "Convince Me" gets you off to a rocky start. You are still welcome but you need to observe and absorb the tenor of this site for a while if you want to continue.
