Just received prices, etc.
USD $6,200.00 with the strap in carbon style/
USD $2,800.00 superalloy, handmade and parts with special screws, etc. Please tell me what is "superalloy" Owned my own import hardware business for 35 years and no steel was ever marked correctly or really defined. Superduper? Superpowerful? Superstrong? Superbullshit?

Received this e-mail from: Andre Grossmann, managing director

Have no idea if it is a really good piece or not. Do have their color sheet with description available.

swiss quality watch

Dear watch enthusiasts

This is what André writes about his handmade swiss watches:

The signature of a passion in materials
The Aviatex Watch is dedicated to absolute performance, combining extreme resistance with aesthetic. In addition, the material used for the case and the bracelet presents the best acceptance by the skin because of its non-irrating properties.
Each piece is made in Switzerland -everything from dials to srews and springs.
The material used for its design is a super-alloy. Super-alloys are metallic composites including a wide range of specific metals amongst which the cobalt and the chromium. The watch-case is meticulously sculptured out of one piece of this material. Mainly due to the presence of cobalt in the material, the acceptance by the skin is exceptional, in particular in terms of anti-allergic caracteristics.
This case is made to protect the movement and to have a style of its own. It is not only a solid, heavy, robust and confidence-inspiring super-alloy part but also a filigree masterpiece of metal processing and surface refinements.

Features
Screw-down push buttons to guarantee high water resistance
Scratch-proof sapphire crystal face embedded and compressed between two watertight joints, acting as shock absorbers
The hardness of the case is about threefold that a case in steel;
Finishing and polishing are entirely manual for watch-case and bracelet
Water resistance to 200 meters (656.17 feet)

Fitted with a ultra-resistant mechanical movement Valjoux 7750
- Automatic Mechanical Chronograph movement
- Indication of hours, minutes, seconds and dates (at 3)
- Power reserve 44 hours
- 25 jewels
- 28’800 vibrations per hour

Mainly due to the presence of cobalt in the material, the acceptance by
the skin is exceptional, in particular in terms of anti-allergic caracteristics.

This watch is worth every penny, equipped with a 10 years warranty. No comment.

Switzerland is famous for watch makers. Aviatex is a small company, but parts are made from the all well known movement makers in the Jura region. The watches are put together, one by one in the Geneva region, in Nyon.

200m (656.17 feet) and 10 years warranty priceless.

I own watches from Patek Philippe and IWC, Omega, Ulysse Nardin, but I love my GT edition watch from aviatex like no other watch, in red with white stripes.

The cobalt case is 7 times tougher to scratch, then steel.

Have fun

Chris,

I also have the Aviatex watch, red with white stripes. I really like it however I'm concerned about the company standing behind the warrantee. I met André in Le Mans this summer at the Roush sponsored GT event and he suggested I contact him about something we discussed related to my watch. He gave me his business card and I've since sent him two e-mail messages since July. He has not replied. I'm not sure how useful a ten year warrantee is (although I was told the warrantee is two years) when the company's CEO tells a customer to contact him and then doesn't respond to this customer inquiry. I now don't know who to contact at the company.

I’ll continue to post notes on this thread to keep all informed of my on-going dealings with Aviatex however, given my experience, if you’re considering the purchase of this $7K watch I’d be very concerned about the company standing behind it.
