Are there any Ferrari F430 owners here on the FGT Forum? I am in the market for a Ferrari F430 with a 6-speed manual gearbox and I was wondering how these cars compare with our FGTs? I know that there are several Ferrari 458 owners here already and I have read many posts, but I am super old fashioned and I have to have a manual gearbox to row through. Also, how reliable are they and what have been your experiences? Do you enjoy your Ferrari ownership?
Thank you, in advance.

I had a 430 and it was a good car. It was haunted by an electrical gremlin in the convertible top mechanism that left the top 1/2 open several times. I bought it new and drove it about 5000 miles before I traded it.

I have a 458 and my friend has a 430 and likes it. It is several years old and he says it has been reliable. For me, I will never own a Ferrari out of warranty even though mine has been pretty reliable.

As for a comparison with the GT, they tell me the 458 is light years ahead of the 430, and I would still rather drive the GT over the 458. I do like the techno upgrades on the 458 , however.

I have a F430 Spider with F1 transmission. My biggest issue is the low profile Tires and Potholes. The car has been very reliable but my favorite thing is the F1. Nothing sounds like a Ferrari!!!

For me, I wouldn't even consider it without a 6-speed manual tranny. I just love rowing through gears and find it to be a much more enjoyable experience. I know that the dual clutch automatics are way faster, but I don't track my cars or race them. I just recently got rid of my 2012 Porsche Turbo S because I found the paddles to be no fun at all. I just didn't enjoy driving the car. Recently, I picked up a 2013 GT500 and that car is just a blast to drive. I just have always loved Ferrari offerings and the F430 with a manual gearbox is my last option, because I am not interested in another car with an automatic tranny. I guess I will be stuck with "old" cars from this point on as the tide has changed in favor of paddles.
