I remember seeing a thread about various issues with this problem- bad relay, soft start module or bad battery. I have the original battery and understand that you have to change the tray to accommodate the smaller battery. I would like to troubleshoot my issue before I go that route. I do remember someone identifying an alternative battery that will fit. (Has anyone used an aftermarket battery successfully/) I have searched but just can't locate that thread. If I had a bad battery (charger shows fully charged) wouldn't I at least get a few clicks or something? I tried jumping but got same result- I get one humming noise on first try, then nothing-the humming is not like a starter spinning with low power but another sound between a hum and a buzz. Previously, I have had 2 bad relays, one for AC and the other for fuel pump. Which relay would I change to eliminate that being the culprit? I will try and bypass the soft start module if someone can confirm that it will not be detrimental if I just do so in order to isolate that as the problem. Any advice or help finding useful threads appreciated!

Update! Changed relay 29 and cranked right up. Took the old relay to Advance Auto and they didn't have the part looking at their computer for Ford GT parts. We went to the back and matched it up with ones they had in stock and it was $16.
