Exhaust upgrade

I am very fortunate. My wife loves cars and goes everywhere with me to local cruise ins and shows. Forty seven years of marriage and she doesn’t mind if we spend money to make our cars better.

Rick, not a lot of wives opine on exhaust notes--I'd say you've got a "keeper" there! ;)
My wife was also engaged on my exhaust decision...she loved the sound of the Pantera "Big Throat, off-road" pipes.

I am finally into production on these. This is the first set and out to get coated before shipping.

Connects to any oem style muffler or x/h pipe. I can shorten the tubes up and add nice round mufflers to quiet down those who want to run x pipe or h pipe for more aggressive tone

I wish I could but they are hand built and not made by some large company.. I had billet stainless steel flanges made to where they meet the cylinder heads. The Ford racing ones originally were tack welded in the tube areas just forward of the axles and over time (some times sooner than later) those welds cracked and then you had a shitty sounding set of headers and its hard to fix those spots where they are welded.

At least there is a option now that can be ordered, even though it will be a set here or a set there.

How much is your stainless H pipe?

Looking to change the factory exhaust to something a little louder. Any suggestions?
Rick

If you're just looking for more rumble rather than performance, you could consider removing the muffler and replacing it with an X pipe, which is what mine has. I think there are 2-3 sources for X pipes. If I recall correctly (and I might have to correct this if someone says I've got something wrong) the wise source we all know around here told me this is the order of exhaust volume, quietest to loudest:

1. All stock (OEM exhaust manifolds, cats in place, and OEM muffler).
2. Replace the OEM muffler with the Ford Racing muffler.
3. Replace the OEM muffler with an X pipe ... which is mine. I was concerned it might be so loud it'd wake the neighbors, but def not. Perfect, for me. This setup retains the cats which provide the sound muffling which is still a significant amount.
4. Replace the cats with headers, keep the OEM muffler.
5. Replace the cats with headers, plus a Ford Racing muffler.
6. Replace the cats with headers, with an X pipe. This is the one referred to as a "20 minute car" cuz that's how long you can stand it!

Is your x pipe from Rich the GT Guy?

Mine is an Accufab.
Just remembered your thread here. Below is a 5-second drive-by of my car that captures the Accufab pipe's sound; the pipe is the only drive train mod on the car:
