New owner 2006 Ford GT

I'm excited to have my GT! I've lusted after the shape since I was a kid, and am super excited to have my own now. I've considered building my own replica over the years, but with little kids haven't been able to get past the safety aspect of them, and I love the overall package of the newer GT. My car was originally owned by FLY GT40, and I'm planning to pick it up in August and do a big road trip home with it from WI to FL with my 11 year old son.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm buying the car from a guy that I bought my '91 NSX from in 2017, and we've been friends ever since. My son was 3, and we flew out and did a big road trip home with that car as well. I still look back at those pictures and have such amazing memories from it. I will have owned the car for 2 months before taking delivery which is so hard to wait, but the memories from the road trip will be worth it. I’ve set up tours of Road America, Indianapolis motor speedway, National Corvette Museum, and we’re going to drive the tail of the dragon and cherohalla skyway.

Any advice for picking hotels safe to park in?
