I have recently become the proud owner of a GT and have managed to figure out almost everything so far (with some help from the Forum).

However, I am stumped about what this one button does, and the only option is to remove the panels to find out. I was hoping someone here might know so I don't have to.....

That's not on either of my '05 GTs, and it looks like a simple toggle switch so my guesses are: 1) You have a Euro model and it controls something US models don't have, maybe additional lights (fog?) or headlight washers? (seems like an odd switch type for washers) 2) A previous owner added an amp or something else sound system related? 3) Additional interior lighting? 4) It controls a license plate obscuring device? 5) It controls a passenger ejection seat for when they become too chatty, smelly or otherwise intolerable?

It looks like it's On in the pic. Have you clicked it off and on to see if anything happens? If you don't see or hear anything, you could trace the wires behind the dash to see where they go and try to figure it out that way.

Good luck! And I'm looking forward to learning what it is.

Hi Extrap, Thanks for the feedback and yes the car is in Europe although it is a US model (import). I don't think it is and of the ideas mentioned although I am now installing option 5 which will be used frequently ;-)

Is it for the fog lights gt101 would know

What is option 5?

That looks like a rear fog light switch to me - we don't fit them that way but we've seen it done like that a lot.

I never really understood why the US cars have front fog lights but not rear fog lights - I always thought it was more important to be seen than to see (not that the front fogs help a lot anyway).

option 5, as per YOUR post, is the ejection seat...............

Oh then the switch could be either the rocket launcher or smoke screen

Option 5 seems a bit extreme. Maybe a "cone of silence"? So you can hear the wonderful sounds from the engine, of course.

Even better, Wife ejector button.....

this is an after market switch, not standard on the GT.
I have this switch installed on my car which I use for the LED lights in the engine bay. They come on when i put the lights on or I can turn the switch off so they don't come on at all.
As extrap said turn it on and off and see what changes.
