I think the design team did a great job on the interior of the GT, but like many of you I like to take a bottle of water along for the cruise. After many hours of looking at the options I came up with this unique item and mounting location.
For now we'll call it a POD. It will hold a typical 16.9 oz bottle of water. It will also hold a gage, cell phone or sun glasses etc... It bolts in to the existing console mounting points so no modifications are required. The driver's side prototype is what you see here. I need to determine if there is enough interest in this item to go forward with a mass production of this side and we plan to make a mirror image one for the passenger side. This piece has been fully road tested and will not interfere with any controls or body parts or normal body movements. I've filed for some design protection so no copy cats please...:biggrin This prototype is painted silver. The production units will more that likely be Carbon Fiber. Let me know what you think and if you'd be interested in one? Sorry for the hairy leg phot our resident supermodel had the day off!! Update : 1/22/08 ( ok I got rid of the hairy leg photo) New deatails coming soon..

Sweet baby Jane! That is exactly what I need. How do I get my leg that hairy? Oh wait, it already is...

As a side note, I'd take the cup holder.

Not sure if I would do both sides, it depends on the price. I think I would rather just have one on the passenger side. It looks like it would be a little in the way just there... maybe more pictures would help. At any rate, I would definitely get one.

Also, I like the painted silver look (very factory). I haven't converted to the dark side (CF) yet so the factory look is a bonus.

Have you thought about condensation and where the extra liquid would go?

how about a square one to hold a litre of MAKERS MARK?

Good job Brian. Looks Great!

Brian, I've been begging you for months to get me one. I don't need carbon fiber, and silver is just fine. I can repaint it GT red like it should be for all cars. I'll take one for each side. Frank

I really like it!

STORMCAT,

I really like it! I would like to put a A/F ratio gauge in it. Silver is perfect.

QUESTION: Does have much tendency to vibrate under certain road conditions?

Thanks,

Jay

I'll speak up for Stormcat. I went riding with him several months ago and fell in love this bottle holder. I keep begging him to make me one. It is damn near perfect all around. No vibrations, extremely easy and quick to attach or remove, rock solid. Really big guys with long legs shouldn't have a problem because of the angle. Next to the nuclear reactor light, this is the next best thing to have. Oh, and Brian, my birthday is coming up towards the end of July. Your friend, Frank

On watch boards, anytime a hairy wrist is shown; a warning is posted prior.

Just warning or wax before.

another bad case of "the wants"

Frank,

Thanks for that update! I have another bad case of "the wants".

I would want one without any finish applied, since I would have to modify it for my specific application, an A/F ratio gauge.

There have been a few local people that have seen it. It is rock solid all around and does not touch any part of the car other than the mounting points. I can tell you that I've logged a lot of miles with it in place and have never hit it with my leg and I sit very close. The further back you sit the more clearance you gain. It would be perfect for an air fuel ratio gage or any other gage. I have talked to the mfg about different materials. If they are made out of a cheaper material ( fiber glass ) you spend more money finishing them i.e. primer paint etc.. They do make a silver type CF material that maybe cool !! I can tell you I'm working on this and some other fun stuff !! I'll post some more teasers real soon. I appreciate all your feed back good or bad.

Frank- don't screw it up by painting it red.
BTW- you can keep some of your work utensils in there so you don't loose them.

Guys- it is a very nice piece. It does not interfere with your leg. The fit was perfect.
Excellent job, Brian. Thanks for giving us a choice of interesting tidbits.

Manny

I want one too. Please let me know when they are available.

I am definitely interested in one for each side, in silver, as the silver looks like it belongs.

Great idea :biggrin I'm definitely in for the bilateral SILVER holders. In AZ, 2 holders are a minimum :devil Any ideas for additioanl holders? If I remove the Mac, is that good for a few more?

I'll chime in and agree with Frank. I have seen it and it is first rate. Nice job Stormy. :thumbsup

Fubar,
Most cup holders see a little moisture and don't have a weep hole or something of that nature. In most cases the small amount of moisture would just evaporate as in most cup holders or it could be wiped out if need be. These will be water tight. You could mix your favorite cocktail and pour it in here. We'll offer a long straw with adjustable angle option. But we'll draw the line at the loop de loop straws...:biggrin

What, no loop de loop straws?!?!

Looks great! I'd like a couple. Not sure what color, probably in silver to match the interior as is. Lookin' forward to seeing the options!

(and I'll get my own damn loop de loop straw) :biggrin

Frank,
I'll take one when it is available. Great design.
