Anyone here ever run the high speed event at KSC?
Ever since Mojave, I've got speed on the brain and this venue looks smooth...

I am not aware of the event, though it is located pretty close to me.
Please send me date and details so I can check it out and see if I can make it

Yep, turns out Mojave was running on the same day. That would have been a hard one to pull off...I propose that we watch for the next event and show up in strength!:thumbsup

Looks a lot less commercial than the WannaGoFast 1/2 mile shootouts they have here is the SE.

Let me know if anyone does one of these and I'll try to make it down.

Next event is Nov. 4, which is a Saturday.

I plan to be there with the TT. It would be great if a few of us GT guys could make it together, otherwise it will be really lonely being the only fast car there. We will get to run all afternoon on the 2.7 mile course, and I'm told KSC is as smooth as a pool table. One mile to shut it down after the 2.7, yawn.

C'mon guys, if I can get there from Arizona, I'll bet you can get there from wherever you are.

If you wanna go, pm me and I'll get you all the data. No affiliation...and no idea what I'm getting myself into :)

P.S. These are very small events, usually less than 20 cars, so you basically run as much as you want to.

Reading the rules I see the safety requirements change at 160. What would I anticipate from a standing start on a stock GT other than a Heffner exhaust?

What acceleration distance does this event have?

A stock GT will go 0 - 185 in about 45 seconds (source: Wikipedia). If I did the math correctly, that will take about 1.2 miles.

I have no idea how this event is run, but you would exceed 160 in a mile.

I did 185 in my bone stock GT at the Texas Mile at Rally IV so you can definitely break the 160 limit.

Gary, you should easily exceed 160.

I'm out after seeing the price and who is sponsoring the event.

Anyone familiar with the Arkansas Mile event? Looks like they had one in 2016 but didnt see anything for 2017.

Out for November also will try again in future.
