Dinner at Outback tonight.

Early launch tomorrow per Dr. Frank, Dearborn arrival should be in the afternoon.

Arrived home about an hour ago after 1153 miles in which I think my picture (the car really) was taken many many times along with at least a couple dozen thumbs up, several "hook em horns" gestures due to the Texas plates I am sure and many conversation at very fuel stop. This was my longest trip so far and I loved every mile. I took my time and drove mostly secondary/back roads. One crazy thing is I left The Henry hotel and about fifteen minutes into the drive I noticed my engine light come on and I'm thinking what I should do and I realized I was at the exit for Rich and Dennis so I stopped by there and they cleared the code which turned out to be a vapor emission something or other and the light did not come on again. What a car !!

I think we were the first to leave. Pulled out at 4:10am Saturday, went through Nashville so we could make an appearance at the corvette museum. Dr. Frank's route was better, Arkansas has no tolerance speed limits.

Chris
Does that mean you were "interviewed" by the Highway Patrol? We came back on the same route but without the GT escort and did fine. 850 mi in 12 hrs.

Its on the road sign, "No Tolerance". Got back last night after just over 3,000 miles in total. Some comments;
A) the bastards are putting radar emitters on poles in sections of the freeway to slow people down: parts of Arkansas and Missouri had sections where my detector was on full blast for hours at a time
B) new cars with adaptive cruise control spew out radar, Cadillacs and Buicks the worst, MBs and Audis next. Every time you go to overtake one your radar detector goes off!
C) our Interstate road system is falling to pieces, about 50% of them are more suited to a four wheeler than a GT
Now its time to get the bugs off

Glad you and Roz made it home OK. How was your extra day at the Museum? Enjoyed our times with you.

No problem with any law enforcement. Running Dr. Frank's route both ways next time. Mongrel is right about the roads. they are getting worse fast.

The museum is, err, eclectic. I would have spent more time there but Roz wanted to watch the Indian wedding at the hotel so we had a late start.
Best surprise at the museum was to see one of my top five favorite vehicles

I know Jack. Just teasing. Me, up late? I know podium winners don't care to hang with us losers.
