Arizona "Rally to the Rally" Details

Scottsdale at the end of July.... will be the test for FGT cooling system and hopefully the damn Safecraft extingusher won't go off...

Was out driving the other day at 113. Car was in the usual 210-220 range in traffic. Have not yet overheated the car.

They should be OK.

The only thing you Eastern guys need to worry about is putting a towel down before you sit on the sit. If you have not experienced the joys of black leather / vinyl or a bright seat belt on a HOT summer day, you may be in for a surprise when the back of your legs look like a waffle with GT seat grommet circles (you can just say a small octupus attacked in in AZ) :thumbsup

No kidding about the towel!!! I picked up my new midnight blue car yesterday in Detroit, met Dave Bannister and Rick (GT Guy), the drive home saw near 100 degree temps, I used a towel on the seat, it was soaked by the end of the trip home! That being said, I am working on a product idea that provides additional cushioning and ventilation properties to custom fit as a seat "cushion". More news on this later!

Shoot me a private message to let me know your plans. I just made room reservations for my sons and I, and Tony (he doesn't know yet) at the Marriott that Chip Beck set up. We plan to check in on the 30th. We plan to drive home after the rally using the Northern route stopping in Las Vegas. See you in a couple of weeks!

The Ford GT cooling system was tested at their desert proving ground here in Arizona, Larry, Dave, and I have confirmed that the Ford GT can easily handle any outside air temp. The car's however, will be two floors underground at the Mariott where it is a lot cooler anyway. Ford GT's love Arizona!! :thumbsup :cheers :thumbsup

Reservations confirmed..trailering to Scottsdale

Chip- I just made my reservations at the Marriott Suites Old Town for Tuesday July 31st leaving with the caravan on August 1st. Please add one more GT (2006 Blue/White GT) to the group!
I will be trailering so I will need to have a 'trailer parking space'. My wife and daughter are coming and we may arrive 2-3 days early to see Grand Canyon etc. (her graduation gift). Can I leave my trailer and GT for an extra day or two? We will take the truck to the Canyon.
Getting excited..Thanks so much for arranging all of this. The folks at the Marriott were great also.

This restaurant is normally closed during the entire month of July but the owner has agreed to open it just for us. We will have a full staff and the bar of course, will be open. :cheers Arizona's finest prime rib(seafood for you non-meat eating communists) will be on the menu.
