Has anyone Dyno’ed a 2017-18 New, Stock Ford GT? I am interested in seeing a Dyno sheet on either of these year model’s . If you have please contact me at hamonford@aol.com or PM me on this Forum. I plan on putting my 2017 GT on a Dyno as soon as her first oil and filter change has been complete. Thank You Tomy Hamon

Already ahead of ya, talked to John Hennessey yesterday as well as I was at his delivery! I need a print out in hand to compare it to my Dyno of which I will be doing soon. That’s all I can say.

It would admittedly be very interesting to see. Almost a don't care for me on peak power but more curious about how Ford tuned it to make power across the band. Area under the curve, so much more important than peak values.

Not interested in peak power, also power acrosss the band and midrange power and torque as was set at Multimatic. As I understand from Delivery Specialist all are dyno’ed at the end of production. Wish I could see that printout! For sure there will be no tuning on my GT by anyone!

Tomy, for what I think you need dyno results for, remember that different dynos give very different results, so comparisons will only be valid on the same dyno with the same operator. Also, the type of dyno makes a significant difference, e.g. a dynojet will give higher numbers than a resistance-type unit.

Listen to this guy.

I used to subscribe to this theory as well and I don't know if the machines and software has improved or what, but our testing on various Dynojets has all been eerily consistent recently. Ryan is doing well in his NASA racing and when you finish races well, you get weighed and dyno'd a lot! We use a Dynojet here in SoCal to do our tuning. There's another Dynojet at our race track in Pahrump (different elevation and climate) and then there's the portable Dynojets that NASA contracts for at the race venues. All have been amazingly (and thankfully!) very consistent.

But, perhaps all of this is moot because I think for the kind of information that op is looking for (general shape of the HP/TQ curve across the RPM range) almost all dynos will tell the same story.

Using a Dynojet is definitely the way to go for comparison of different cars on different days.

Just a question.
If you're not going to "tune" your car, then what is important about dyno numbers?
You have a beautiful car.
Congrats!
Best,
Mark

Only interest in having a Dyno run to keep with my documentation as I did on my 2006 GT. I am interested in how Ford set up our GT’s as to their power curve and HP.

As long as we dont have to remove any of the rear body panels to strap it down, we will dyno our Heritage in about a month after it has the full body Xpel paint protection.

Understood.
Only downside is that dyno runs can be harder on the mechanicals then normal use.
Would hate to break something!

comparing power output to other cars is interesting data...

I've spent a lot of time under the car. The only way I can see to tie down the car would be from the rear "A" arms and the rear diffuser will need to come off. I've had mine off 2 or 3 times. The back up camera disconnect and back up light connectors and mounts are a pain.. There are some plastic reusable push rivets on the sides that need to come out .. a PIA to put back in with the wheels on but it can be done..

Jason Heffner dyno’s Dave’s car a couple times and as I understand it several panels have to come off to strap it down.
