Love the SHO's Ed, My mom had the EXACT white one, but second gen, hers was silver, she just recently sold it, something like 175k mi, and she got 2k for it (was not the daily driver any more)

Sooooo, what did she dyno???

260AWHP stock
285AWHP with slight AF and timing changes only. There is a ton left in this powertrain and I am target to let a lot more fly here shortly.

Given the 30 % drivetrain loss that makes the 260AWHP right at 365 flywheel

Nice work, man.

When they put this powertrain in a car the size of your Fusion, I'd be more interested. That would be a true SHO.

IMHO, I would say that a 30% loss is a wee bit on the high side. But I have to believe that the 365 crank HP is correct after the fiasco Ford had with the HP rating of a past Mustang.

Uh oh a customer of mine ripped off a 13.5 @ 102 a moment ago. And this was behind a very non aggressive calibration. Watch what hits next.

Torrie please stop teasing me.... I always wait one year but this car is really just the ticket and maybe I won't be able to wait.

Although a 6.2L beast with a whipple in the new raptor should be fun as well...

I wonder if the shows TT's could be up-sized?????????????

Just got through re reading the various car rag reviews and the above posts detailing the 1/4 mile times/speeds and me thinks Ford is definitely understating HP #s. I mean sub 14 secs @ 100 mph+ on a 3800 lb car with 365 horses? Doggone, that's FAST!:thumbsup

Tom for the good of man don't look to me for any sort of restraint when it comes to vehicles. There is a ton more potential left its crazy with this platform.

Yeah, the stock FWD Taurus weighs more than 3800. 4300 and 13.5's, that is moving. He got a 1.9x short time on that run.

Damn, Torrie, that's impressive. Did you brake torque at the line? Does the car let you build boost that way?

I did to a point but I didn't try to kill it on the launch I was working thru other things at the same time.

Wow. Soft launch indeed. That thing has a 12.9 in it for sure with a little brake torquing.

I know some modern turbo cars (997 Porsche, for example) don't allow you to build boost with the brakes....I SHO hope you can in your Taurus!

Were you able to firm up the shifting?

That was the first run that was the weakest, the runs later were a lot harder. Yes I can build more pressure under brake at launch but there is a limit to what it will take right now.
