Hello Lucky Few;

Here is wishing everyone continued good health for the coming year and beyond.

Just took possession of my new GT.
Count me into the GT lucky guy/gal club.
I have been very fortunate to have owned many terrific street and race cars , but this car is truly amazing.
Not only is this car a true work of automotive art, its outstanding performance is without a doubt at the highest level.

My problem is my wife can't drive my pristine Christmas gift to her.

My gorgeous GT is failing the OBD Diagnostics at DMV AND WON'T PASS INSPECTION.

Their diagnostics keep saying the EGR system and the Catalyst systems are :
"NOT READY".
No error codes of any kind.
The EGR is in place.
The Catalytic Converters are there.

DMV personnel tell me that the car needs to be "drive cycled" but I have driven it for 140miles since I bought and nothing has changed.

The car does have the HENNESSEY 700 upgrade.

Has anyone failed diagnostics at thir state with a Hennessey 700 ?
I DON"T want to undo the Hennessey upgrade.

How did you correct this?
I have lurked for some time and I am very glad to finally be part of the terrific GT family.
See you at the rally's and at the races.
I appreciate your wise counsel.

Not sure this is the right place to post. Moderators move as you wish.Thanks.

.

Welcome to the owners club!

You must have an aftermarket tune in the car. I hope you got an SCT or Predator tuner with the car so that you can return to stock to pass the smog test. The tune needs to turn on all of the smog stuff. Your tune must have the rear 02s and EGR turned off. Once they are turned back on and you drive it for a while it should be ok.

Yeah, what BlackICE said. Hopefully your car came with a hand-held programmer. Plug it in and follow the instructions to downlaod the stock tune into the car. This should "fix" your problem and allow it to get smogged successfully. Once back home, simply plug the handheld back-in and re-upload the Hennessey tune. Don't worry, all is good!

Unfortunately did not get the tuner with the car.
I hope Hennessey has the tune saved, can provide it somehow and recomend an SCT or Predator.

Just PM Chip Beck or DBK.

This forum is great. What if we didn't have this??? :shrug

One thing for sure, EP would still not have anymore miles than last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and some "DR" in Florida racked up 6K miles on a GT treadmill.

:cheers

Approximately how many miles should be driven after car is re-programmed to stock tune, prior to testing?

I used the link and already payed via paypal. I also had a pulley and a tune put on my car before it was shipped to me, and failed the NY inspection for the same reason. I just put about 100 miles on the car and it passed the inspection no problems

Okay I believe we have wrestled this one to the ground.

I appreciate everyone's input and Mullet's suggestion.
Hennessey's people stepped up to the plate and although I was not the customer who incurred the upgrade expense they have treated me with the same respect and sense of urgency as they would have their original customer.
Needless to say that's a great business philosophy.
Monday we will go for a re-inspection and hopefully 894 will pass.
Gracias
