Guys most of you have done major work to your babies. :thumbsupI am not interested in the whipple route but would still like to change the pulley and do a tune to match. Who/where is the best place to get the pulley from and est. cost? :confusedIt looks from reading the posts the the SCT tune is the best way to go.
Thx for all your advise!:cheers

Not to hijack, but I was curious if the pulleys are the same between the GT500 and the GT itself as well. I think so but need to know for sure as I already have a GT500 pulley... Stan

Almost 10,000 pulley tune miles here. Got them from Heffner Performance. Can't recall exactly what it cost. Something like $1500.

Had a Heffner tune and pulley as well.... it was great, then I discovered the big WHIPPLE.

I had the Hugh Heffner pulley job in Chicago. Was pretty sore afterwards.

The Heffner pulley and tune (SCT) is a great combination. No need for a MAFIA box and the car runs/drives just like OEM but just pulls stronger.

Have his old Heffner tune and pulley .... it is great.

That being said, I got a ride around the block in a big Whipple-ized FGT on Saturday and there is no comparison. Kind of like when the ship hits "Plaid" in Spaceballs; as opposed to regular old light speed.

I was planning on going the pulley and tune route until Bony gave me a ride in his Whipple-ized rocket sled. I just don't see the point any longer in taking the interim route before going BIG.

It's a F*#@kin' kick in the a$$ that delivers grins. :willy

I felt the same way when Ed Sims gave me a ride in his Whippled GT! Never even thought about a pulley.

:thumbsup

Jack, can I ask why you use the MAFia versus a SCT BA2600 or 3000 MAF.

Also can I get a quote on the pulley alone, a mail order tune alone, and then the pulley with a mail order tune, I have Xcal2's in stock so don't need one. TIA ... Stan

Thanks DBK, I just ordered my first batch of parts, from John/Accufab, (axel bolts, radiator springs, drain plugs, and air inlet sleeve). We use them to machine our GT blocks for truck use (wet sump, 5.4 truck starter, etc.) anyways so I knew they were always good to deal with. Im glad to be a customer and look forward to being a customer of more vendors...

I also tried ordering the engine bay light from Jay yesterday but he said two more months.. Stan
