What brake fluid and tranny fluid ?

I know the search button is your friend. My mechanic is suggesting Dot 4 for brakes . What is best for brakes and tranny fluid? Thx

Choose your favorite Dot 4 Brake Fluid. For a nice price/performance balance, we prefer Motul 600. Don't forget to flush/bleed the clutch fluid too. Easy enough to do as you have all of the tools out. Use the same fluid in both. For the transaxle, unlike the brake fluid, please don't exercise any decisions. Use ONLY the Ford Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Transaxle Fluid 75w-90. Make SURE the bottle says TRANSAXLE FLUID on it as they also have a synthetic 75w-90 differential fluid that is NOT what you want. This fluid will cost about $38/qt. (If they price out a lot less than this it is another indication of the wrong fluid! LOL)
