I did a search on the forum and did not see this posted.

There is another youtube post (Part 2) with an Enzo, which barely beats the stock GT time.

I think you guys with Whipples, Turbos and even Pully-tunes would beat the Enzo with the Stig driving.:biggrin

Notice, all cars above the stock GT are either 3-4 times more expensive than the GT or open wheeled, ie the Atom. The Ferrari 599 just got tenth place, but it is also many times more expensive than the stock GT.

My guess is a TT GT could break 1.19 or 1.18, a Whipple could break 1.20, and a pulley-tune could break 1.21.

Do you have any idea if all these times were posted in "EQUAL" (as much as can be) weather conditions at all, Joe? Did the 'source' say?

Excellent question...Seems like I remember they would post conditions along with the times.

Also, where are these posted at? Their website?

Thanks You.

Luv it, the wife's car is faster than my Volvo, but the Volvo is faster than an Elise. Never thought that was the case.

The first Ford GT time (the one in the video) was in wet conditions, the second was in dry conditions. (The second run was in a red car, the first was in a white one.) Both runs were with bone stock cars.

The Stig times are posted on Top Gear's website at

http://www.topgear.com/

Top Gear is on BBC America and BBC2.

A 260 HP Cosworth powered Caterham also beat the Koenigsegg by 0.2 secs. There's a video on Jalopnik.

How does anyone really know what is bone stock or not? Nearly all manufacturers adjust/modify something before the car is given for testing. When the GT first came out John Coletti's GT was used for testing. That "stock vehicle" had several modifications including pulley, chip etc. which no one mentioned. Also the engine was iced down after each run to ensure there was no heat soak, which Ford knew was a major performance sapping problem.

Dave,
STOP IT, STOP IT!
Ford would never do that.
Next thing I know you will tell us that there is no Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or super heros like my pals Super Woman (saw her at Sema) and Spyder Man.
Say it is not true.
Sadly,

Wonder Woman still exists as we all remember her. Linda Carter is still dynamite.

I saw the super heros on television just the other day so I know they are still safe and Santa sent me an early letter wanting to know what I wanted for Christmas. No I all ready have a blow-up doll.

But who would trust a car company?

I know Dave, but I think Top Gear, for comparison purposes, only compared the stock versions.

They do test tuned versions of cars, but they are announced, separate tests...like the tuned Mercedes SL 500 they tested last year that Jeremy said the traction control was not capable of handling the extra HP and torque. Witness the Brabus :ack
