Shelby GR1 & Shelby Cobra - why no build?

Does anyone know why Ford has chosen not to produce either of the following Shelby concept cars?

I got the impression, in speaking to some Ford Exc. (no names :biggrin ) that the GR-1 is not a dead topic.
