All this talk about active flaps, harmonic balancing, flat plain cranks, engineering feats, cutting edge design, aerodynamics, great achievements and applied technologies makes me think about the mother of engineering “Necessity”. At some point we need to step back and look how true needs were met through good sound “Seeing a problem and coming up with a solution”.
This is the kind of “necessity” solutions we need!
I wonder how the wing attaches. If you saw the pictures elsewhere of the car in the garage the bumper is on the floor but the wing is still attached to the bumper. With that much downforce it has to attach to the main frame somewhere.
^so that's how the guney flap sticks up and moves down, 3/4 of the lower skin pivots to 'change its shape'.... Not sure of any other car that's ever done that. Amazing.
