Sears Point / Infineon open track

There is an open track event at Sears point Sept 7,8,9 thru the norcal-SAAC club if anyone is interested. You can check out norcal-saac.org for info. It is not racing but you can open it up pretty much all the way plenty of times on a pretty good track. I race my shifter karts on that track (lot's a fun) and I do plan on taking the GT out.

Sounds interesting...I already have commitments for that weekend but maybe I can get out of them. I used to race shifter 80s...still have it, maybe I'll bring it along.

yup, it's also put on by HOD, it's called "sports and exotics". Limited to 2 run groups of 15 cars each (one street group and one race group). 30m on 30m off, sounds like 4 hours total track time. I don't know if the street group will have open passing rules or not. Maybe they'll do the thing where you put an X on the back of your car if you want point-by rules.

Anyway, it's $525 and you get a LOT of track time, and few cars so you should have lots of leeway around the track. I'm looking forward to showing some F-cars my tail lights. :biggrin

Actually, I'm not the biggest fan of HOD but 10/4 sounds awesome and since I'm up there I'll stay for 10/5.

I'm not participating in the NorCal Shelby Club Mini-Nats open track on Sept 7-9 but I will drive my GT there on Sat Sept 8 to watch, check out the cool cars & buy an event t-shirt (the Wine Country Motorsports store at the track is great also). Afterwards myself & a few GTs might do a Wine Country drive. We can go visit Andretti.
