Those are 15+ pound pine cones that dropped from over 30 feet high from a couple of trees in front of the Andretti Winery. Just missed hitting a couple of cars including the front of my GT by less than a foot. I can finally laugh about it now.

Mike

Pretty sure the tree was aiming for Jeremy. Just sayin'.

I'm thinking the area where they fall should be roped off or marked. Imagine getting hit on the head with one of those.

Ah, for the Personal Injury type attorneys...

So many possibilities (might not be accurate or exhaustive), not a practice area that I am familiar with...

Premises Liability
Attractive Nuisance - children
Wrongful Death
Negligence - Comparative, Contributory, Last Clear Chance
Duty to Visitors, Duty of Care, Breach, Causation
Licensee
Invitee
Eggshell Skull

But yeah, someone should definitely taking precautionary steps, I'd hate for someone to get hurt...

The painted standard wheels on the red car with the Terlingua Racing decal are very nice.

The girl running the show said they fall once every 3-4 years. Guess we just got lucky to be there for the show.

I don't know about everyone else but I was on sensory overload in there. Just too many great cars combined with the idea of being able to purchase them had me overwhelmed. What a shop!

I assume all the cars "on the wall" were rollers?

Vince, it's interesting that you used the term sensory overload. Jeff, John & I got there about 30 minutes before anyone else (you're lucky there were any Krispy Kreme's left), and when others started arriving that's exactly how I described what they were about to see.

I assume all the cars "on the wall" were rollers?

Larry, most of the cars on the wall are rollers, but not all of them. At least four of the Cobras on the wall had drive trains, including one of the two copper-bodied cars. The black Cobra behind it, the green Cobra below it, and the blue Cobra behind the black Cobra (and down one level) also had drive trains. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it here on the forum, but the copper cars are not plated. The bodies are actually made of sheet copper, and the folks at Denbeste said they are VERY heavy. Matt made the observation that you really couldn't leave it parked anywhere because copper thieves would show up with a Saws-all.

Larry, at least two of the GT40's had drive trains, the red and the light blue cars on the lowest rack level. The black GT40 above the blue car may have also had a drive train, but I just don't remember and I don't have a photo that shows anything. I know the MkII is not your favorite, but those three are all they had.
