Guys - I have to change all the fluids and oils in my yellow GT. Can anyone tell me which oil is recommended for the transmission? Is it the ATF+4? Ford recommends 75w90 gear oil...which one would be correct?

Our FGT transaxle is a unique and costly piece of equipment. It has been posted numerous times and confirmed with technical engineering team members that owners really should only use the Ford specified SAE 75W-90 Premium Transaxle Lubricant (XT-75W90-QGT) purposefully formulated (and in fact sourced from Ricaro) in the transmission transaxle. Order it from your local Ford dealer or Torrie.

Thanks for the info!

Just a side note:
You will need roughly 4 to 4.5 quarts to fill the transaxle without a cooler attached.
And I got a good price at my local dealer for 27.19 per quart.

Wow, that's a GREAT price - it is well below cost!

Ford (Motorcraft) makes a Full Synthetic 75w-90 GEAR oil and as I recall the cost is in this range. The "Premium" Synthetic 75w-90 TRANSAXLE fluid is typically in the $34-$40/quart price range.

$27.19 + shipping at Tousley Ford Parts online. They say MSRP is $32.96. Just enter the part number XT-75W90-QGT in the search box. Better yet, ask your local dealer to match the price and save on shipping.

That is exactly what I did.
I went to my local Ford dealership and they matched the lowest price I could find.
So I ended up buying a case of it. I dont think this stuff will go bad sitting in a cabinet (dark and cool).
