My New Challenger

Well, spent the week cruising around the Austin Hill Country in my new Challenger which was just completed at ART...

Wanted the resto-rod feel with the new car so had them swap out a new 440 CID Hemi motor for the stock 6.1, fully built tranny, rear end and all chrome and old school parts under the hood...

Uuuuuuuuuh...now Pockets is confused (I know - "again"?).

Mopar didn't make a 440 Hemi. They only made a 440 wedge (largest Hemi "of the day" back then was a 426).

What didja do to get a 440 Hemi?

It is a 426 Hemi which has been massaged to a 440...

Available exclusively through ART, they have a very experienced high tech builder supplying them with these powerplants... same engine shop which will be coming out with some cool options for our FGTs :biggrin

awesome machine, any problems with smog? You just can re-insert the old engine going in for the smog check or does Texas not have one! In the Socialist Republic of California, we have them all the time.
