I used to own a 2004 Yamaha Vmax that I put a UFO header/exhaust and stage 7 jet kit on. It dyno'd 117 rwhp and 79 rwtq. I sold it after I bought my 2009 STAR Vmax. It has the cat removed and replaced with an H-pipe. The O2 sensors have been disconnected and the tune is done via a power commander. It also has K&N air filters installed. The 1.7 Litre V-4 motor dyno'd 181 rwhp and 115 rwtq through the shaft drive. I hit a top speed of 160 mph on GPS and the speedo was reading 173 mph. I have the optional 8 inch wide rear wheel with the 240 mm Pirelli Diablo tire in the rear. I run the angel tire in the front
The official world record for top speed on any generation VMax (including chain drive conversion) is 158 mph Set by the late John Cornell on a 2009 STAR VMax. I hit 160 mph in 5th gear at 9,500 rpm in one mile on a flat 2 lane road at 3,000' DA. I have the gearing to go 168 mph in 5th at 10,000 rpm's at the TEXAS mile.... i just need a 50 shot of nitrous to pull it
