I remember the system you are talking about. The headers themselves are a PIA to remove (all GT exhaust headers IMO). However the cat delete system is pretty simple and can be completed, in your garage, in 2 or 3 hours.

what i am talking about are the straight headers only. these headers allow you to still use the rectangular borla muffler. these "are not" the headers with the cone shaped borla mufflers attatched to them. i am not sure if cats will fit with these headers or not but the ford racing website used to have two different types of header systems. one was "without" the cone shaped borla mufflers and one was with them......

according to the website you cannot use cats with these headers but you can use the Borla Rectangular muffler which is what i have and what i want to use with these headers.

Just to let you know, that is exactly what I have installed, with the Borla muffler, and all jetcoat powdercoated. The sound is immense, but if you want, you can drive them acceptably silent at lower revvs...

The direct thru pipes will get you directly to jail.... :wink I heard them when they were on Joe's (the TT pioneer car we all know of) GT, and they were just unbearably loud..

You will love this setup. Good luck in finding them !

i assume you bought your headers new from Ford? are they stainless steel? how much was Ford selling them for?

I did buy them new, but - honestly - don't remember what they went for... The powdercoating was done by the GTG royals here, the GT guys.. :wink

sorry to hijack this thread guys but i found the headers i want at Borla. even though Ford no longer sells these headers Borla still has some, so i ordered a set today. i am gonna get them jett-hot coated
