Has anyone found a good adhesive to stop the metal door trim from getting loose?

I searched prior threads and found that the 3M 7/8" or 1" acrylic tape #06383 was recommended. Also used 3M adhesion promoter #4298 on door panel plastic before appying new tape. Removed original 1" tape before installing new. Seems to be holding but only time will tell.

I cheated and used GE Silicone - no problems in 4 years.

06 clips? I think you are not on the same page here Keith. All Ford GTs, 05 and 06 have the metal trim rings stuck on the plastic door trim ring with double sided tape. The plastic trim ring is then clipped in the door, but the metal is double sided tapped to the plastic.

Clear silicone. All tape adhesive will deteriorate over time. For what it's worth the GT guys use silicone.
