That's the highest price I've seen for a GT that's not a Heritage or GTX1.

I was just going to post on that. That's nuts. Too much for one, not enough for the other. I saw a local FGT car with 150 miles and 6 different previous owners sell for $350,000 supposedly, if you can believe a used car salesman (no offense Shelby or any of you other reputable dealers/sponsors). Everyone who owned it made $30,000 on average? Just pushed around on car dollies I suppose to avoid the miles.

Just one guys perspective... but all the numbers we are seeing now will look cheap 5+ years down the road.

is there a story behind this car as it should have at least hit $250k?

I agree. I dont think our cars are done yet. I am also not convinced the new GTs will follow the pricing path we are seeing with our cars. Just my opinion but I think the new ones look closer to Lambos and other exotics. Just don't see them as timeless like the 05/06. Plus I personally cant shake the V6 vs V8 thing. Anyhow we shall see how it all pans out over the next 5-10 years.

I think you're right, but not in the way you're thinking.

Agreed. John Kraeman (sp?), one of the TV announcers who works for Mecum once predicted that it will be a million dollar car within his lifetime. Justin Bell while announcing for a Barrett-Jackson auction last year also predicted it to be worth a million sometime down the road. That's not why I like them but a potential bonus.

Exponential price increases on new ones vs linear like ours? Not seeing that but who knows. Guess we all find out together...

Good news on the sale...means my yellow delivery-miles, in-the-wrapper car would fetch over 400k! Can't wait to see it hit a million!

FBA,

There was a 2006 Yellow/black stripe 500 mile FGT owned by the original dealership, sold on MSO at Mecum Kissimmee this year. I must have looked at this car 20 times as I was there a full week. I jumped thru hoops with Mecum and the owner to see the books, see the MSO ( was not allowed to have a copy of it). Was registered to bid, got up on stage and it was bid to $275K in a heartbeat, and I froze, and it ended up selling for $300K. That's almost $345K with 8% commission plus Florida 6% sales tax. Reliable Carriers charges more for expensive cars than for a lesser value car. That would be a grand plus the cost of new plates and I'm in it for $350K by the time I'm done. Too much money. I know I will regret not buying it sometime down the road.

I was lucky. Bought mine in 2012 when prices were way less than today...and thought at the time that it would hit a million in 20 years. Now I think it'll be way less. :)

20 years is a long time. I would not be surprised if the pristine examples go for that in 2032.

I'm still not saving mine for the next guy. 32kmi and counting.

You bought the red one from the same collection from Shelby? There was a Red, a Yellow and White at the time IIRC?
