Important Detail - Comp. Belt Installation

This is the same subject as the thread started by Craig (nice job).

But I thought it was important enough to start a new thread, as I didn’t want it to be lost in all the other replies.

When you attach your belts to your new steel bar behind the seat using the harness belt manufacturer’s 3 bar locker, be sure to thread the belt back through the 3 bar locker a third time so that only one bar is showing.

See the two attached pictures – one from my race car and the other from Willians‘ Web Page. You should also read the manufacturer’s instructions.

Failure to install the belts in this method may result in the belt not holding in an accident.

shoulder belt

Safecraft is sewing my shoulder belts to the length that fits me. I'll have to loosen the bar to remove the belts. If your seat is far enough back that the metal adjustment locker touches the seat back you may want to sew the belt to prevent scratching your seat back.
