I had the 3rd Aventador imported into the US (flown in) and delivered in Oct 2011. It's a fun car, but I only kept it a few months (although I did put 2,000 mi on it including 300mi at Road Atlanta). It is definitely more of a showpiece than a drivers car. I've also owned a white 2008 Superleggera and a 2011 LP570. I think you will find that the 2008 SL you had is more fun to drive than the Aventador--as is the FGT. If you do wind up scratching that itch, definitely buy a 2012/2013 (coupe) model as they are beginning to depreciate. The Roadsters are still trading above sticker and will be for awhile. I have several friends with Aventadors right now and they seem to love them. They are a great bunch of guys and are not pretentious or stand-offish at all. I find the Ferrari guys to be much fuller of themselves as a whole. Good luck!

Few men on their death bed say I shouldn't have spent that money on
Lamborghinis, Super-Models, or great travels

If you don't; it will be spent on aluminum siding

That is hilarious!!!! But how do you give one if you don't give a ... There is a lather rinse repeat cycle that would have to be broken to send it as a gift.

I plan to enjoy this car since I don't my others. So too much money for a car I am going to put miles on?

Why is it this one will be different than the other cars you don´t put miles on? If I wanted an awesome sports car that would be great to put many miles on, I really don´t think a Lambo would be the first I thought of ..... unless you wan´t to make a statement to the people looking .....

Well my, "put miles on" would be less than 1000 to 2000 per year max. And that would be only if there was a few road trips in there. So I could pick one up with 2000 miles and in 2 years trade up with no more than 5000 miles on it.

I guess you've already decided you're not going to fall in love. So, the Aventador is a hooker equivalent. :lol

In the end, none of us can gurantee ANYTHING with regard to our grandkids...but, referencing the above, I can honestly say, "I did my part"! I owned/rode a '76 "Low rider" 'back in the day' (and I have pics of my eldest daugher riding with me on same!). 'Nice scoot!

I'm going to guess both of my boys don't even know what a Harley is. If I am still alive to see grandkids I don't think they will know either, unless Harleys are electric by then.

That would be awesome!! I would get into a lot of trouble with that car considering it would have to make a few runs on the street.

Not on that one, it was on consignment and the owner didn't go for it. However the salesman called a guy that they originally sold a car to that was exactly what I wanted. Made a deal pretty quickly and I picked it up while I was at TX2K. After Rays passing it made me get off my ass and pull the trigger as life is truly too short. Quick phone pic
