Love the pictures blasting down the gravel road. If you can afford a 2 million dollar car I'm sure you can afford a paint job or 8.

The vid shows a clear shot of the car's center console. It looks nothing like the one in today's SPF GT40 MKI. I thought the SPF '40s were supposed to be as close as possible to the 'originals'? Is there a diff between the consoles in the '65 GT40s and, say, the '66s? IOW, would that explain it?

I've notice that too, Pockets. Someone @ SPF told me its a difference in how the tub is made for the replica. I wonder...

Regardless, this is a very interesting GT40. Twin rear lights/side on an early "street" car. I suppose Ronnie Spain would know how many cars had the single pod versus twin lights, especially after the more aero front end was applied due to the initial nose being anything but aerodynamic.

BTW, website shows high bid of $2.1MM,not sale. Did the car not sell?
Interesting that a semi comp 427 Cobra (lot 122) sells for $2MM, but a GT40 with great provenance only show a bid @$2.1MM. 40s still don't get the respect they deserve.

Correct, it did not sell at the hammer, who knows what happened after.

Spent a lot of time looking at it in person, pretty car with a lot of patina. Could be diven vs some of these over restored crazy things people do....

289 = $2M. 427 = $4M. You still can't beat cubic inches.
