Ford quoted a total savings of 117 LBS . has more titanium fasteners and other stuff.. and missing stuff,,, to lazy to type the details..:bored

So if we estimated ~3267 lbs rolling down the road (Raj Nair's 3173 "race car wet" quote + 15.2 Gallons (~94 lbs) of fuel), then taking 117 off that puts you at 3150 lbs rolling down the road (not including passengers) for the Competition Series.

Thanks to Topnotch for initiating this thread. I was going through the options and pricing list to think about my upcoming purchase and did not have a clue regarding what the "comp model" was. If you do the math, and compare a special "liquid" color with stripe car with similar options, like carbon wheels, titanium lugs, etc., the comp model will only cost about $12K more. However, no air conditioning is the killer for me. South Florida and humid Ohio summers are no fun without A/C.

Does anyone know if the air conditioning and radio can be added back in as an option? The Porsche 918 Weissach Package came with no AC or radio, but almost every owner added it back in as a no cost option.

If A/C could be added, I think I would consider the option. I particularly like the single carbon stripe, plus the exclusivity factor.

No, you absolutely cannot add back the A/C, or radio.

Wonder if the competition car will be at the Sebring race? Or is it just there for a photo shoot while the team is practicing?

Competition Series has now been added to the configurator! Check out under the "Series" button. For extra lightness you now get only 1 stripe! LOL.

It will be on display this weekend at the Daytona 500.

It's been added, but you can only see it in the default silver. If you try to change the color, it will revert back to a standard car.

I understand from Jalopnik (not sure how reliable that is), that the stripe is not a stripe, but naked carbon of the underlying structure. Cool.
