I went out to shoot some guys practicing freestyle motocross. The main guy I met up with is Chuck Carothers who took Gold at XGAMES back in 2004. It was a blast. Whew my sensor is dirty..

Great shots Lucky Loser! Those kids are amazing. I've seen them in person but your photos almost put us there! Thanks.

I can't do what those kids can do but I still race in the Old Guys on Old Bikes events (vintage moto-x). Here are a few pics on my 1974 CZ 400.

Ed

PS Tim C - are you still coming to my race in Phoenix?

Lucky,

When that 1974 CZ was new, Hannah was still in diapers. These days, Hannah races airplanes (a P-51) as well. Back in 1974 Roger DeCoster (CZ and Suzuki), Hiki Mikola (Husqvarna), and Joel Roberts (CZ and Suzuki) were some of the top guns. I had posters of all of them on my bedroom walls when I was in highschool. Those were grand times.

I love the freestyle moto-X shots you posted. Do you have any more you can add?

Chip

Hannah & Bugsy

Here is a photo of my wife Heidi with Bob Hannah at last year's AHRMA Vintage MX Nationals near Brentwood, CA (Sandhill Ranch). Bob attends a select few MX races a year (Brad Lackey puts the race on so he asked Bob to be there).

The second photo is of me on my 1972 CZ 125 talking with Dick "Bugsy" Mann at the Honey Lake round of the AHRMA Nats in 2007. Bugsy is a real moto hero to me.

The vintage moto-x races are the best as all the past masters are out for you to talk with. Hope to see you there!

hahaha!! Hell I was born in '73 so I don't really know. I just remember my older brother always talking about Hannah when I was little. so any time I see old dirt bike I just associate him with those. My only memories of watching a racer when my older brother was racing was Jeff Ward. I want to say that was early 80s??

This is on my old bike... the jump is about 40-50 feet, flat landing. As you can see in the second picture, bottoming out was unavoidable.

Old Bikes Rule!

ObeyMyFast - cool bike & photos. Thanks for sharing.

I like the old ones better though. Here is a photo of me racing in Arizona 2007 on my 1972 CZ 125. 4" rear travel, pre-mix, old bike, old gear & an old guy - now that's my kind of racing!
