Forgelines out, HRE's on (from Darthvader / Andy House)

I've had the car setup with the Forgelines for about a year now and it was just ready for a change. Prior the car was on 20" Forgelines SC3C-SL's, brushed face, polished lip. The car was running 335 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's on the rear and regular Sport Cup's on the front:

I purchased come C103's from Darthvader/Andy House this past week, he was awesome to work with, shipped immediately and the wheels are pretty much perfect.

Here is how it sits now on the 20" C103's, unfortunately the biggest 20"/28" tall drag radial I could find was a 315 NT05R so they are a tad narrower on the rear than I'd like, but it hooks. The MSPC2's weren't doing so well with 900wtq at 4,000 RPM cold.

I love how it looks, and I wasn't sure if the stripes would clash or not, in my opinion it looks great!

I like the factory wheels but I'd have to say that a black no stripe car with those wheels would look simply marvelous!

Looks great. What were your thoughts on the Forgeline centerlock conversion kit?

Looks great. What were your thoughts on the Forgeline centerlock conversion kit?

I really like it for what it is, those were my 2nd set with them and I have a few take-aways:

1. It's for looks only, the adapter hub itself is relatively heavy
2. Because it's an adapter, there is not a OEM-style looking mechanism, so getting the hubs on/off with the car in the air is a PITA without someone to hold the brake pedal down for the fronts.
3. They require ALOT of torque to stay on right, and even with grease etc., the mating surfaces get a bit gawlled up
4. I'd much rather the locking cap (not the centerlock lug) screwed on in a reverse pattern as the centerlock lug to avoid them both unscrewing the same way God-forbid the torque wasn't right
5. It's a bit bulky, and these are the revised "flush lock" version

All in all, it's a VERY well designed setup, and it is aftermarket so there is only so much they can do. I'm not sure I'll order a centerlock setup again for a car that doesn't come with one.

Great feedback. Thanks. Yes, I've heard that they're quite heavy. The fact that Porsche factory CL's on the 997's had initial issues with failure of the locking mechanisms would make me very wary of an aftermarket solution. But they do look great!

I saw your forgeline wheels while visiting m2k, that setup was nice. The hre wheels you have on it now tho...perfect. Well done sir. How are you liking the e85/twin turbo combo. Your car almost made me revamp my whole setup!

I am typically not a fan of solid black wheels. I personally think there needs to be some contrast between wheel/tire; however this just "works" Car looks terrific. Perhaps just the centercaps or the brightwork on the bolts is the answer. Great vision. Congrats.

I'm putting a powder coated set of OEM thong wheels on a friends red no stripe in a few months.
Gunna look sick!
