Does anyone know why this is listed as *OFF-ROAD ONLY! NOT STREET LEGAL! ?

Does anyone have it and use it for on road use?

Thanks for any input on this matter. I am looking for a better option than the stock one with the exhaust.

Substantially louder than stock muffler
Exits in stock location
Mounts at all stock points
Includes installation hardware
OFF-ROAD ONLY! NOT STREET LEGAL!

System pictured is post cats, any very legal, in fact it is actually not very loud, compared to an x pipe. What is very loud and not "street legal" are the long tube headers with the racing mufflers that eliminate the cats...... There are TONS of discussions on these all.

I have the Ford Racing Muffler. It is slightly louder/deeper than stock. It isn't loud enough to attract any unwanted attention. As stated above, there are some good threads on exhaust comparisons.

I have installed quite a few aftermarket mufflers on GTs. I prefer the Ford Racing one the best. It's made by Borla for FRPP. Most x pipes sound good, but are a good bit more throatier. I guess it all depends on your particular tastes. The reason they are labeled "Off Road Use Only" is a legal disclaimer. As "Spec" and "Sin" have said, not much loader than stock, but nice and mellow.
