GT got its first wash.....2.5 hours

Have to possibly retract all my dry-wash posts.

There is something about rinsing whole vehicle in water that makes the paint glisten, and all the rubber perfect black.

6 years of dirt was covering alot of nicks to side white stripes...some down to red paint.

Was unable to remove tar spot in rockers....used Rain-X tar & bug; anyone have anything stronger (3M?)

Used these products to wash; using different pads / cloths as i worked form top to bottom; Muguiars Gold car wash.

I don't think it really happened. Where are the California babes?

I tried the waterless stuff once on my truck - if my working girl didn't like it no way was it going to see (then) the Mustang and Cobra.

I use Turtle Wax soap in a bucket. First I wet her down, then wash with a microfiber towel. Then rinse and wipe off the water with another microfiber towel to get the water off (squeezing often) and then another one to remove the streaks.

To me the key is the "bubbles" and a soft cloth - it gets all the grungy dirt off so it doesn't wipe around and scratch.

No matter what, the cleanest I ever get is just after a soft rain. I just wipe her down with no soap. The soft water really makes a difference.

It is better than soft water. It is filtered/de-ionized.

It won't spot as bad but, Soft water has salt in it.

If I remember right my tap water has less than 200 ppm of disolved salts.

That is low, Mine is not that good.

For most of us, the De-ionizer is a huge step up. Makes washing a breeze.
