I saw that, Im starting to have hope that 3 pedals may not die completely....

For us analog guys; great news from Porsche !!!

2018 GT3: 4.0L, 500HP, RWD, 6sp manual, Car Play, etc., now, that's a jewel of a car.
I hope they make enough of them to keep markups and flippers away...

Its doesnt matter, that car will have cult status.

So much for the 911R. Sucker born every minute.

I'll give the marketing people at Porsche credit, they are geniuses.

The red and gold looks great on that car. McLarens have some of the best paint quality I've seen on a production car. Newer Vipers too.

Couldn't agree more. Also bear in mind that the 720 and the NFGT will not really be in the same price league. I can't wait to see what level of performance Mclaren achieves with this car. If I was Ferrari, I would be sweating a bit.

depends which one you get MSO 720S is over 400K heck my MSO 650S was $407K

I would agree Mac has the best paint and MSO paint even better. I had MSO paint on my last 2 macs last one I made myself cost was $16K but got exact color I wanted.

I've gotten to know some of the McLaren guys and actually had dinner with their CEO tonight, Mike Flewitt. Mike was with Ford for 20 years and was VP of manufacturing in Europe before going to McLaren. He and his wife Mia are proper car enthusiasts and racers that share the same passion we do. I think that McLaren is making great cars. This includes the new 720S. It will be the new benchmark of the category occupied by the 488 and Huracan. I consider the NFGT in a different and higher category, not based on performance but on styling and desirability and exclusivity. NFGT also is based so close to the car that won Le Mans puts it in its own category. If I had the money I'd own both along with a few other McLarens including P1 and their new 3-seater currently with the code name of BP-23.

new 3 seater will be a F1 true replacement as the P1 is more of a track car BP-23 will be all out top speed very slick no wing car like the F1 was. only 10 are coming to usa and my dealer is getting 3 out of the 10. each dealer gave MSO how much their top clients spent with MSO not McLaren but MSO only. I thought that was pretty cool rewarding MSO customers for spending lots of cash over the past years with them. it will be a very special and limited car built in MSO part of the factory.

Not even close to the NFGT styling, not impressed. IMO

I agree. The 720 looks like a high school art class project, or a toy sold to promote a sci-fI movie. It has me looking at the used 650s market again, as I believe the old design is far superior.

Couldn't agree more. I'm not loving the 720 styling. I'm sure performance is great, but ... does it really matter. FWIW, I think the limited Le Mans edition of the 650 is the best looking car of the Mclaren super series, along with the 675LT coupe.

Saw it last week, cross-eyed alien front, fussy over-styled details everywhere, did not like. I'm sure that it will be a rocket and kick the GTs ass, but so what? In two years everyone will be saying how out of date it looks whereas in twenty years people will still think that the GT is a spaceship

Usually these things grow on me over time, but I find several of the views hard to even look at because they are so awkward.

I'm sure it's going to be a blast to drive, but definitely not a direction I would choose. Proportions look whacked. 12C/650S may be sedate comparatively, but sometimes it's better to put the pencil down...

In my opinion, just another extruded turd from designers struggling to be different.

As I pretty devout McLaren fan, two thoughts spring to mind:

1) I haven't seen the 720 in person, so I'll force myself to reserve judgement until I do;

2) I have seen the NGT in person and it is an unmitigated, brain warping, success. It makes me all warm and tingly and proud of Ford. Magnum Opus, boys, Magnum Opus.

I tend to agree that the NGT will hold up better over time, and I say this because of McLaren's ambitions to continue designing and selling a steady stream of new models. Today's new thing is tomorrow's used car, and at that price level, you better have a flat in Monaco if you wanna play. I'm just a dum 'mercan and I guess I'll have to slum through it somehow...

Thanks for the photos, haven't seen it from so many different angles before. Headlights are way too big, the side profile is probably the worst, don't like the exhaust either.

570s is a much better design, imo

The 650S was not exactly a design achievement either. They may end up being a good deal once prices are in the current 12C range.
