I spotted this engine build vid for the F8 of which I have a deposit on. Never imagined 80 percent of this 720hp engine Is built by robotics. So much for hand built Ferrari’s.

Holy cow, that's amazing. Do they build the engine in house? The real question is about the robotics. That stuff is not cheap and I can't imagine it being cost effective for the robots unless it is either contracted out to someone else, or Ferrari's robots are used to build engines for others.

When I went for the tour in 2012 all was done in house except the crankshaft and the leather made for the interior.
The crank comes in as a rough piece and the plant does all the polishing, cutting etc for the specific motor. The leather comes in giant pieces and are laser cut for each vehicle and hand applied and sewn over the interior pieces. Yes lots of robotics but most is still hand made.
What a great facility to see and tour.

Wow,

Amazing how that tiny long block became such a large total assembly
