Exercising GTs

A seemingly knowledable GT owner told me that it is imperative to drive a GT regularly and to put some good miles at high speeds or major problems can occur with ALL systems, E.G. the main seal. I see all these cars on the internet that have VERY low miles or almost none. Aren't these cars going to have major problems? My GT has 500 miles. Any good insights/answers would be appreciated. Thanks, Sharona

It is good for most cars to be driven "some". I certainly do not think this is more important for the GT than other classics or exotics.
Undriven cars have special needs that if addressed properly, shouldnt be a big problem

The GT Guys and others who built and now service these cars can offer insight on low mileage car potential issues but as Mitchell said as long as these are addressed it should not be a major problem. Once you start driving your GT you will forget about trying to "keep miles off" and the high speed part comes easy! Be safe.

I wouldn't be sweating profusely if I had a low mile car. I would be more concerned about owning a 500 mile car than a 15,000 mile one though. Regular exercise should keep things running smoothly. That said, there's nothing on the car that's gonna just disintegrate that can't be remedied by the experts. I had The GT Guys go through my car (28k) and if anything was worn or roughed up had them replace it. Money well spent.

One other consideration is the enjoyment the owner gets from driving it. Welcome to the forum btw.

When I was younger, more ambitious and gave a crap about such things, I would ride all my motorcycles on a 10 mile loop every 2 weeks to maintain them. The rides would expose any problems that needed to be addressed and kept all the bikes in running order. Then I realized it was a chore to do this, got smart and sold the stuff I wasn't using.

Still on the first one. Best financial planning advice I ever got.

The guy who dies with the most mileage wins! Not saving my car for the next guy!

Drive it!, Closing in on 100,000 miles combined with my GT's.
You wont regret it, compared to other Euro high end cars, the cost to maintain is next to nothing.
All the best newbie.

Your GT should see 200mph at least once a year to be kept in the best shape, LOL!
