Has anyone experienced the door light staying on and if so what was the issue

The switch on the underside of the mirror.

If the switch is on, the light stays on for about 10 minutes or so. Even if you leave the switch on and the doors open the light will still go off within 10 to 15 minutes.

I don't know what a door light is. Do you mean door ajar? Most common is the trunk lid. Lift it a foot and let it drop shut. 2nd most common is the clamshell. Give it a good slam.

What he said...and in my case, clamshell most of the time.

Try your owner's manual. If the front trunk is not shut, your wipers won't work properly either.

I had to adjust one of the clamshell latches to extinguish the light.

After we installed the GT Guys clamshell latch interconnect (highly recommended) - the door adjar light would not extinguish. After checking the clamshell switches (seemed obvious as that was the last thing worked on) - we used the OBD connector to find out it was the front latch, not the clamshell switches.

I'll bet it is the front trunk (can a space in the front be called a trunk?) not shut. Hard to tell that is open sometimes by just visually looking at it.
